Guess where Sam and I will be? Tickets arrived today! See you guys there! Adrian's fine about it as I've promised him a meal out on his birthday at a very exclusive local hotel - a favoured place where we go on special occasions!

Happy, happy, happy.........

I'm glad things have worked out well for you guys. Smile

Did you get to see Gypo when it played in Edinburgh?

Estelle! I love the knickers! Where do you get them?
Did you have them specially made up? I would love
a pair of the PaulDoc ones!

What a trip and a half! You just brightened up a VERY
slow day!

Thanks!
Catherine

Hi Catherine! Gaby (sotl) made them as a joke so we could wave them at the Horatio Hornblower cons whenever Mr. Bush appeared on the screen. You see, one of the main events of these cons is to watch the eight Hornblower flicks in sequence. Heehee, actors aren't part of the con except in 2-D format up on the screen. The cons are strictly for the fangirls (and occasional fanboys--usually husbands of said fangirls) and provide an opportunity for online friends to meet in person, go sightseeing in cool places like Toronto, Portsmouth, Baltimore, Norfolk, and Williamsburg, and see the HH flicks in the company of aficionados.

So, you might ask Gaby if she'd make you a pair. Smile

Will do Estelle!

How about it, Gaby? I'd love a pair
of PaulDoc knickers. Could you do it?

Thanks!
Catherine

Let me see if I find the right kind of knickers first. The ones I used in the past don't work all that well that is why I haven't made more.

What are the right kind? The pic of Estelle's
Lt. Bush knickers looked great. Maybe I can
help you find the right ones.

I love the whole idea-what next? How about
a whole set of "Day-of-the-week" knickers?
And an extra pair. Then I'd have PaulDoc with
me-"Eight days a week"! Very Happy

I really do think this is a cute idea. Thanks Gaby!

Catherine *BTW-I'm a size medium-YES, I'd be wearing
them!*

Anything that is pure cotton, no lycra or elastic material. I use iron-on transfers and as you can imaging, lycra and elastic melt, so you can see the problem. The iron needs to me on the knickers for a long time at a very high setting otherwise the image peels off or bubbles.

We got the idea from this McGann underware that I saw for sale some place in a Dr. Who site.

As a joke, I made a whole bunch of knickers for the ladies going to Chicago Tardis '04. And that is the knicker story in a nutshell. Very Happy

I must warn you that the transfers don't do very well in the wash.[/img]

Victoria's Secret sells my favourite all-cotton
knickers. Have you tried them?

Would hand-washing help? It's been so long
since I've had iron-on t-shirts, but I think that
helped somewhat.

Love your piccie, but I fear I'm a little too old
for that particular style! Laughing Just a few pairs of
VS's all cotton hip-huggers would do nicely, thank you!
Very Happy

Catherine ( never thought I'd brighten up a rather dull
Friday evening by discussing knickers! Laughing Of course,
Paul's picture on one's knickers would brighten up ANY
evening! Laughing )

The elastic band at the top is too wide and the elastic in the legs too delicate.

Maybe some of the other ladies can answer that. The only items I have used the transfers on have been things like totes, so I don't know.

I'll look around when I go shopping.

I wasn't aware Paul had done 'Gypo' or 'Mourning Becomes Electra' or I would have been there! I'm linking up with a company that have some great photos of these shows available to buy and are hopefully going to give us discounted prices on the site - they also have pics of various other McGann productions.

Neil McPherson, artistic director of the Finborough Theatre, generously e-mailed me jpegs of six production photos from The Gigli Concert. These latter are big enough for 8x10 prints. PM me if you'd like me to e-mail you the files (smaller versions of these pics are up in the Theatre section under Gigli Concert).
