Today Akka sent me these cool piccies from her recent vacation trip to Egypt for posting.

How colourful the reefs are!

Fish under a bridge we could go into the water!

A fish I haven't seen before and looks so foreign, seems to be a luggage fish?

"Car wash fishes" cleaning a fish that really enjoyed that!

Suddenly I discovered a ?wheel?! LOL

Directly at the beach, where the reef began it goes down to 50 meters deep!

Picture from our one day trip to the Natiional Safety Zone, where some other ships also go for diving and snorkeling! Behind: desert!

Trip by boat:

Some fish eating a jellyfish! You can see how they're not frightened!

When we changed spots, I suddenly saw the sea looking like a tsunami:

This beautiful pic is on our desktop right now!

The beach to the left:

The beach to the right and in front of us is the way to the reef!

Only to show how clear the sea is and how colourful the fishes are!

Thank you so much for sending these great pictures, Akka!

Thanks to Estelle posting these for me!*kisses*

And I´m glad you all like my pics, although some are gone lost! Shocked

Again I send some to Estelle and I hope they arrive here safe now!

Otherwise I hope Estelle do that again???? Embarassed Rolling Eyes

ArtiGann: welcome to the Library! I´m glad you like them , too, but I wasn´t at the Pyramid zone, too!
Because of we must go there at holiday time, ( with a kid, you know) a visit is only good at times when it´s not too hot and the kid is too young!
So, our daughter also love to snorkel we first checked out some diving spots and may be one of the next times( she is old enough now) we plan to do it finally:
A one week trip by ship down the NILE, watching Pharaos tumbs and the Pyramids. After that few days relaxing at a reef hotel, for sure! Wink

Sometimes you can book cheap trips here, but they are at times when no holidays are and absolutely crazy days. 2 Days after Christmas Eve, or so!

Well, I try to wait if Estelle the lost ones put in here, then I will give some comments for them, or? Embarassed

Ähem::: if you find mistakes written by me, you can take them, okay? Wink Twisted Evil

Hi Akka,

I've received your other e-mails and have been able to open the bmp files you sent me. However, using the Comcast e-mail program at work, I'm not able to open the coral reef picture. I should be able to open all your pictures with Outlook Express when I'm at home this evening and will resize and post them. I know what you mean about scanning photos, which takes me forever, too.

Oh, I think I know why your other post with pictures didn't go through--Comcast puts a 10 MB limit on the size of an attachment, and the bmp files are really big (like 5.99 MB apiece).

Your photos are beautiful. Thank you again for letting us see them. Smile I love the one of the colorful fish nuzzling the jellyfish.

Smile The photos are truly lovely! I can see why
you keep that one on your desktop. It's beautiful!

I envy you. I've always loved the sea and seascapes.
Your underwater photos make it look especially clear
and inviting!

Thanks to you (and Estelle) for sharing them!

Hi again!
I´m glad Estelle got the lost piccies, too! But I´m ashamed they are tooo big! Embarassed I thought I resized them! Shocked Öhhhm... Sorry, Estelle, that you have so much work with me! Embarassed *paperbag*

Yes, Catherine , it´s a lovely place for snorkeling and seascapes! The water is very clear and this time I learned why the Red sea is called Red Sea:
During our holiday we had sometimes a...red,brown powder, or...oily parts upon the sea. First I thought it would be desert sand, or oil from naughty ship captains, they empty their oil tanks. But at our one day boat trip a very good diving teacher told us, that this is Coral Sperm! And in very early times, when the sea was full of coral sperm, the evening sun make it look "red". THAT´S why they call it the Red Sea! Shocked Very Happy

At one time, I snorkeled again and there was a very lot of...coral sperm... I tryed to make a joke, if I´m pregnant now???!!! Laughing

Oh, please don't be ashamed, Akka, because resizing the pictures is no problem at all. If you don't mind, I'd like to make prints of some of them. Smile

Here are the rest of Akka's fantastic pictures--we have our own Cousteau. Smile

This picture shows a bit why I could lay hour for hour in the sea and watch and watch!

A wreck under us, the ship contains sanitary articles before sinking! lol!

Me, while snorkeling in that gorgeous clear sea!

Under us all the divers who were with us on the boat trip!

Parrot fish eating corals!

Little view through the "Dreams Vacation Resort", which we never used, because of only snorkeling!

Thanks again, Akka, for these marvelous images!

Öhhemm.. I would love to be another Cousteausine! Laughing Laughing

Ooppp, I send the first pic double! I meant another one! Shocked Embarassed I think because of all that scanning I forgot which one I had before, or after, or.... Laughing SORRY! Rolling Eyes

Yes, Garce, THOSE are toilets! We all must laugh when we saw it, couldn´t we imagine it what the diving teacher told us before about SANITAIRE articles! Laughing

Well, for some pictures, the most, I used the digital camera, that was in a special bag:

http://landandwaterleisure.co.uk/catalog/images/02441.gif similar to this.
And at the boat trip I used a one way underwater camera, that´s why it took so long for developing here! Rolling Eyes

To hanlde the camera in the Aquapack was not easy; everytime I saw clean through the..searcher?, the zoom wasn´t clear or so. Because of the water pressure the plastic wasn´t straight?! Know what I mean?
The most piccies I took I must cancel because of this unclear pics and I there for I´ve made about 1000!!!! photos! Wink
