Whoah-kay, a potted history of some delightful tokens of affection from Mr McGann:

11 November 2006-Poppies Premiere-London: Michelle (Harris) had just persuaded me to meet the man. I stand beside him. He immediately put his arm round me and started to lightly rub my back! My mind is stuck on OMG!

12 November 2006-Dimensions TVM 10th Anniversary Con-Stockton (England)-"pro" photo-I get in place beside him and get another backrub. Daphne Ashbrook-who was hiding in the shadows, hence I hadn't even SEEN her, suddenly says that I got a good picture! Gee, I wonder why? Very Happy

Now, the biggie!

17th March 2007-London-Invasion 7

Autograph table: I gave him a couple of Louise Brooks novelty 20 pound banknotes. Wow! They slipped out the St. Patrick's Day card I'd done for him and he shouted "It's LOUISE!" I giggled to myself. He spent a good part of the next few minutes in Laa-Laa Land staring at the notes and muttering, "My darling Louise"-over and over and over! Then he asked where I'd found them. I told him and suddenly he leant over and brushed my right cheek with a little kiss! My mind freaked-partly, because my camera takes so darn long to get the photo set up that I don't have a photo of the kiss! %$^&*^$ Also, it happened so quickly, that I was thinking, "Did THAT really happen??" I was so shook up that I nearly forgot to have ANY photo taken until I saw Ms Harris with my camera, then I got down beside him, got a third (in total) backrub from him and the lovely photo below. I can't vouch for backrubs, but I'm not the only Librarian to have got a thank you kiss from him, am I now? Smile

Curious thing about Invasion 7... In my St. Patrick's Day post for 2006 at my LJ, I made a silly joke about spending SPD with PMG. St. Patrick's Day 2007, I'm with PMG. There are no words........Very Happy

@ catherine

Aaahh...thanks for recounting your story...wow! 3 back rubs and a kiss...*sigh*...your velvet jacket in the photo looks soft and very touchable...he couldn't resist! Laughing

So you're the one who gave him the legendary Louise bank notes! It's cute how he kept repeating "My darling Louise". Smile

LEGENDARY Louise banknotes???????? Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

When I saw them at this one memorabilia website, I was looking for something else-for myself. Well, I just thought they were a cute little MINOR novelty he just might find mildly amusing. Wow! It seems they've taken on a life of their own. Very Happy To this day, I think his reaction to them was a LOT more intense than I expected it would be. I assumed it was partly being polite and partly because he really loves Louise Brooks.

Legendary. Wow.

P.S. As for my velvet jacket, yeah, it IS pretty soft. I still have it and I still wear it, except, now it's too big for me! Then I could barely get it buttoned. Very Happy

Oh well, if the "no - AHEM - 'dancing' " rule applies to Paul as well, I might as well forget trying to go! Sad Very Happy

As far as I'm concerned, he can do *whatever* he wants. I think the no *dancing* (well, naked dancing) applies to us. Frankly, the way I dance, that's a good thing.

Michelle, what exactly will you do to "transgressors"? Not that I plan to be one (I'll be good, I promise), I'm just curious.
