Petra sent me some photos from her recent trip to Bristol, and they're picture postcard perfect. Smile Her text and piccies follow.

This is my favorite Picture of the pier of Clevedon at ebb, the town I always stay.... Doesn't it look like a postcard picture? In the background you can see Cardiff/Wales

This is the entrance of the pier - looks like a little castle, don't you think so?

This is the view to the pier - in the background you can see a little bit of the welsh coast and Cardiff

This is the view from the pier with the typical houses........

Now you can see the wonderful promenade of Clevedon

And the wonderful Pavillion at the Promenade (and what a tree, smile)....

This was my favorite pub with a wonderful view to the sea (isn't it a nice name?)

Also some photos of the typical british houses - doesn't they look a little bit like little castles? I think so......
When I see them I always think of Mary Poppins singing "Chim chimney chim chimney....."

Isn't this also nice?

Another picture from the ss Great Britain (in the background) and John Cabots "The Matthew" in the front (this was the only really bad day - because of the heavy rain that day - but luckily with a few sunny parts between)

Another picture of the "Matthew" - doesn't the sky looks like painted? I love this picture!!!

And last, but not least a picture of the famous architect Isambard Kingdom Brunel (sitting in the stern of the Great Britain) who built the Cliftton Supension Bridge, the Great Western and the ss Great Britain. They celebrate this year his 200th birthday.

Petra, thank you very much for letting me post your marvelous photos!

Estelle

Oh, they are lovely--wish I was there enjoying the sights. Thanks Petra/Estelle
Makes me think of the Bristol fishermen and seafarers...as in the docu short "Who Killed Cabot?"
