We've been getting a lot of snow lately. Last night, we received another eight inches of it. Although it's hard work to shovel, the scenery is worth it and it's quite amazing.....

I can not even begin to imagine living in a place with that much snow. *shudders*

Wooahh, these are beautiful piccies, thanks Rolly!
They indeed look like postcard motives!
So much wonderful snow!
We never will get THAT great snow, only sometimes a little to make the streets white and the trees, but until a few hours later it mostly melt all away, but traffic is a catastrophe then! Very Happy

Your photos are beautiful, Rollande!!

My son Mark will be leaving soon to do a spring semester co-op job with Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. I'm sure he'll be seeing lots of snow, too.

"getting a lot of snow..." Yep, that qualifies as Lots Of Snow.

Gorgeous pictures though! Just makes me glad I live where I do though - and makes me want to run and fix a cup of hot chocolate!

Very pretty! The last time NYC had snow like that was January 1996! I rather envy you, Rollande!

Hey Rollande! Wow, looks like you had a white Christmas and a half. Smile Thought I'd post a small pic I took out of my kitchen window on Christmas Eve-- it must've been courtesy of the same front that hit you that week (we're not too terribly too far south and west of you.)
I find the futility of the flimsy orange snow-fence our neighbor put up between our yards kinda fun. I'm thinking his $ would've been better spent investing in a good snow shovel this year. Confused
Has cabin fever set in yet? Wink

Teri x

That's a snow fence? How hilarious! Y'all haven't eaten each other or anything yet have you? I see images like that and think Donner Party...

LaughingLaughing

No, hasn't come to that yet. Had to lop off a few fingers and toes last week, but no matter, just flesh wounds, plenty more where those came from.
Very Happy

Theoretically the fence is supposed to keep the snow in our yard from blowing and drifting into theirs, so, yeah. Good plan. Confused

And vice versa, huh? Your neighbor's efforts seem pretty futile, considering the amount of snow y'all had.

Your picture is very pretty, too.

That's a lovely picture, Teri. Brings back memories of thirteen years ago. Snow has become a real novelty in NYC for umpteen years now, so today has been a bit of a miracle for us. It started snowing round about teatime and it's still at it! First decent snow we've had in ages and it might actually stick around! Anyway, I took these out of our sitting room window at teatime. Can't compare with all the REAL snow--but it's a start. Smile

Central Park is just a quarter block away to the right. I'll have to get some shots of it tomorrow, maybe.

Yeah you know it's been like that around here for umpteen years, too, until the last couple years when we've been pounded with snow again. We beat many other year's yearly totals in December alone so far. Surprised So maybe that's in NYC's future, too. Be careful what you wish for... Wink

I like your pics, too, Cat! Very Happy Refreshingly urban for this semi-rural/suburban gurl. Smile Never been to NYC--I had the chance in art school in the seventies, but stupidly passed. Regretted it ever since. Confused

Actually the fences are meant to pretty much protect you from neighbor's to the west (which we are, to them), because most of the storms come out of the west, and with it the wind. But we already have a long line of bushes between the yards that does that, so I don't know what old Don was thinkin' there. Wink
We actually have one up between our western neighbor's yard and ours, too, but Mike really put it there more to control the bounty of leaves that blow into our yard from theirs in the fall. It works! Very Happy
