Work, gym, home, bed, work, gym, allergy shots, home, bed, work, gym, haircut, home bed....

This is why I don't keep a journal.

Oh, I forgot, I have to clip the guinea pig's nails at some point this week.

!!! You have guinea pigs, too?

We are slowly beginning to have too much in common. Laughing

Yep. Had two, but Satie died early this year at the age of 4.5. Her sister Thea is alive and kicking. Satie was named by the woman I got her from--it was short for "Satan." Nice, huh? It had to do with the black mask across her eyes, but because she wasn't particularly evil. She kinda looked like Gene Simmons from Kiss. Thea is now 5, so it's just a matter of time, probably. The first guinea pig I had (Jack) was a rescue, and I had him for 6.5 years, so who knows how old Jack was.

I find guinea pigs so lovable because they are so stupid--they wake up in a new world every day. The first time I saw Jack popcorning, I thought he was having a seizure. I didn't realize he was just happy. I used to get my first dog to help me herd him back into the cage.

I also had rats (Bud and Max) and loved them, but their lifespan is too short. It breaks my heart to lose a pet.

I have two girls (Jung-Freud and Kimiko) and two boys (Gilbert and Squeak). The girls had a third, Noriko, with them. She died last February of lymphoma. I've kept guinea pigs since my sophomore year in college when my childhood dog died.

Mine really do act like little kids. Earlier today, even, I was sitting at the computer and heard some suspicious banging and squeaking from the den like they were pulling their food troughs off the cage walls. I ran in, and each went to opposite sides of their respective cages and looked as innocent as they could manage. They don't fool me ... they're tiny evil geniuses! Twisted Evil

My son Stephen (who's in the Navy) graduated from his 63 week Chinese language course at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA on July 9, and I attended the ceremony along with his brother Mark. Stephen is now in Hawaii after getting to visit for a little while in Tennessee. He and his wife had been expecting to stay at a hotel on the beach in Oahu but instead were reassigned to the Inn at Schofield Barracks which I'm told is as far away from the beach as you can get on the island. I see a trip to Hawaii in my future. Smile

My schedule is reminiscent of Michele's though without the trips to the gym and the allergist. Gotta work on the gym thing.

Good going, Cat!

Wow, a month?! I'd be lucky to get to go and stay a week. Between the office yelling at me to come back, I think I'd run out of money on the hotels alone.

I'm at home sick today, so you're all amusing me nicely! *reads random threads*

I'm jealous Cat. I want to be travelling so badly. I've saved up, but I need time off work. I bought a few books yesterday, so I'll just travel the imagination for a while longer. I'm kinda boring at the moment, work, home, occasional dancing or pilates (both of which I'll miss today), work... yada yada!

I find myself writing a Demons/Eighth Doctor crossover. Has anyone even seen Demons? I just think Ruby would make an awesome companion for Eight. Wink
